Vivid Fallout is the mod of Fallout 4 that is created to improve landscape textures in the game by lower the resolution while keeping the size original. Download it for free on our website.
The game’s vanilla textures are massive, with ground textures running at 2048×2048 and plant textures running at 1024×1024. The Mod’s author, torcher, wants to improve Fallout 4’s. Modder AlpineYJ noticed a lack of proper compression for a lot of textures found in vanilla Fallout 4. To fix it, they put each and every one of them through a texture optimizer called Ordenator to improve the situation, therefore helping the game run better. What appears to be happening is some textures will start out low res to help with performance. If you then spend more time in the area the higher res version of textures will begin to populate. It's a performance thing, it appears, in dense areas. I haven't tested it to see if it does the same thing in low density areas.
Fallout 4 is amongst one of the games that have the best graphics in the market, which is one of the reasons why it is played by millions of players worldwide. However, that feature combines with the massive gameplay of its make it incapable of being played on low-end or mid-range PC systems.
To solve that problem, some mod authors have decided to give it some mods to decrease its size and make it suitable for many budget systems. Most of those mods are made to simplified the detailed graphic of Fallout 4.
Vivid Fallout is the mod that is made to change textures of many landscape features in the game without affecting the gaming experiences of players. It does that by minimizing the resolution of those textures while keeping the size of that object remained.
We have provided you with some screen-recorder videos to compare, if you like it, you can download it for free here on our website. Vivid Fallout requires no dependency to be installed.
Modder ‘Kuzja80’ has released a 16GB AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for Fallout New Vegas. This pack will increase/upscale the quality of almost all of the game’s original textures by four times. Furthermore, it does not contain any custom or new textures, something that most Fallout New Vegas fans will appreciate.
Fallout 4 Texture Bug Fix
Similarly to the Oblivion AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack, this pack for Fallout New Vegas corrects upscaled alpha channels and upscaled normal maps. Moreover, this pack features seamless textures (after segmentation). The modder has implemented a full seamless texture segmentation technique to bypass any VRAM limitations.
In order to enhance the original textures, Kuzja80 used cuda, pytorch and his custom neural net model. Additionally, this pack does not contain textures that were below < 64×64. The modder also skipped textures from the “interface” folder.
Now while the modder did not provide any before/after comparison screenshots, he did share some screenshots for this new HD Texture Pack. Do note that this pack only improves the quality of the original textures and nothing more. Therefore, you should not be expecting any major lighting improvements, or additional graphical effects. As said, this pack also upscales the default textures, meaning that some may not look THAT sharp due to the poor color and low detail of the original low-res versions.

Fallout New Vegas Low Texture Mod
Lastly, you may be interested in another AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for Fallout: New Vegas, using the ESRGAN upscaling technique. Due to the different AI upscaling models, there are some minor differences between these two packs. Obviously, these two packs cannot come close to the upcoming Fallout 4: New Vegas Mod. However, they can at least enhance the game’s visuals for all those that want to replay it.
Enjoy!
